I bought a great chest of drawers over 10 days ago, G plan, of course. The price was quite reasonable and the condition good. The only snag was that it was pickup only and I had to get it across London. Last Thursday I tried every means I could think of, I rang couriers out of the yellow pages, but they seemed a bit pricey, I then tried shipley.co.uk, but the dates of the bids I got were weekday and i wanted a weekend pickup. In the end I went with a courier advertised on ebay, why I hear you ask? Because, they would naturally know the drill, get there on time get it to me on time and make sure that we would keep in contact the whole time. I got the opposite! They did not send the email giving the estimated pickup and drop times, they missed the address the first time they went and they didn't bother the second time and left their phone off the hook the whole day. I tried frantically to get a hold of them all yesterday and eventually I emailed them demanding a refund (they'd already charged my account). I should get my refund next and I won't be using them again.In the end I took a good old minicab, cost more but 100% reliable and the sweetheart of a driver helped me carry it up 2 flights of stairs to my flat. Happy ending: the chest of drawers looks fab and next time I will be patient...........and get a good quote from shiply.co.uk. I'm looking forward to the delivery of my dressing table now.......:)
